The night Stevie Wonder sat-in with Supertaster!
Eric Arnold - SF Weekly (Sep 29, 2009)
Stevie Wonder sits-in with Supertaster!
"For me this symphony proves the jazz is not a dead music but a music which can integrate, or be integrated in, all different styles and by doing this we can keep our music alive."
1300 on FILLMORE - caught the talented collective JAZZ MAFIA in the Heritage Lounge, musicians of all genres - BAAAD GROUP! Keyboardist (Matt Berkeley) with organ sound, got down - reminded me of GROOVE HOLMES and days at Jack’s, the Scene, and University Hideaway; vocalist (Karyn Paige) blew me away with her rendition of “Save Your Love for Me”.
"...they come across like Lee Morgan’s own sidewinder; same cocky sureness, same gnarly technique, same boogaloo energy. Wherever it comes from it’s got a good beat and your mind can dance along. This is bop on the downstroke, fragrantly funk filled."
"They believe this stuff. Deeply. Their skill as composers sets Reorchestra apart from similar units working the soul jazz road."
"...a place where the eclectic sounds of jazz and funk converge into pure spirit."
